Healing for Our Furkids is a global community of healing practitioners dedicated to offering free distance healing for animals of all kinds throughout the world.
Our volunteer healing practitioners practice a variety of healing modalities such as Reiki, spiritual healing, energy healing and prayer.
Though our work focuses primarily on companion animals / pets, we also welcome healing requests for others such as wild animals, farm animals or those in shelters, rescues or sanctuaries.
Please remember that though distance healing can be a powerful complementary healing modality, it is NOT a substitute for conventional veterinary care!
Always seek the advice of a licensed veterinarian for any concerns you have about the psychological or physical well-being of animals in your care.
We continue this work in honour and memory of our dear Barb Schmidt: friend, founder, inspiration behind the Healing for Our Furkids community, soul sister and animal protector who passed away on Thursday, May 26th, 2022.
Barb will be dearly remembered by all who worked with her as someone who cared so much about easing the suffering and pain of animals, for her kindness and for the groups she leaves behind - her rescue groups in Australia and our healing group here.

What is distance healing in the context of Healing for Our Furkids?
Distance healing is opening up a channel of healing energy and flowing it continuously to your assigned animal for the duration of the healing period.
Because the animals we work with can be anywhere in the world and are often in shelters or rescue organizations and may even be in the wild, our healing practitioners send healing at whatever time they are guided to do so and do not schedule appointments with any of the animals or caretakers involved.

What would be expected of me as a volunteer?
As a volunteer distance healing practitioner, you could for example include the animal assigned to you in your daily prayers if prayer is your healing modality of choice. Or if you are a Reiki Master, you could perhaps add the animal to your Reiki healing grid and keep the grid charged.
We do NOT expect that distance healing will be a burdensome task that takes a lot of your time and effort. But rather we intend for you to engage in whatever healing process feels right for you and for your assigned animal, and is consistent with your own preferred healing modality.

We have three types of healing groups from which you can choose to join.

Short Term groups - You will receive a case once each week and send healing to that animal for one week.

Long Term groups - You will receive a case once every two weeks and send healing to that animal for two weeks.

Quick Response group - You will need to check your email daily to see if a case has been assigned to you then send healing to that animal for one week.
You may choose to be in one or more of these groups.
All members are expected to follow these Guidelines:

Information in healing requests is not to be shared outside the group.

No information on other Healing for Our Furkids members is to be shared outside the group.

Members are not to diagnose, give advice or ask for more information from the requester.

Members are not to promote their own or other businesses.

Members are to respect all religious and spiritual beliefs and not pass any judgment.

Members are required to confirm receipt of a healing request to their Group Leaders.

All healing sent is free and members do not ask for payment from requesters.
